- I downloaded the coolest zine in the history of the planet this week -- Hello Sandwich by Ebony Bizys. Heaven for giftwrapping geeks like me. : )
- How to host an elegant afternoon tea. Lovely.
- This has been making me giggle of late. Rihanna robs a bank with Shy Ronnie.
- Easy recipe goldmine from top chefs. This is all I've ever wanted and more. Best: 1, 6, 26, 60 and 99.
- Brings all new meaning to "internet trolling". Eep, scary little buggers.
- Who can resist a cute little sparrow? A bird our neighbour rescued when I was young would peck at my mum's toes while she hung the washing.
- The 10-year-old on the cover of Vogue. Innocent dress-ups or sinister sexualisation of children? I lean towards it being innocent. What do you think?
- How to make a bento box. You'll enjoy watching it even if you don't try your hand at it. Too cool.
- I'm not at all mumsy, but this list of 100 cool baby names is intriguing. I quite like "Snow" for a girl. I've always been a fan of "Skye" as well.
- A platinum blonde, baby pink 80s fave: I Want Your Love.
I've got to Spanish fly. Bye!

Thanks for the link to top chef recipes.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 10-year old model, I think it would bother me less if there was an adult woman in the picture relating to the theme of daughter pretending to dress like mommy.
But her posing alone in the leopard skin bed, the come hither look, the very provocative pose is something I would not let my 10-year-old daughter (if i have one) pose in. It would bother me to know that some dirty old men is looking at my daughter that way.
This is certainly a great topic for further discussion.

that picture is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe 10-year-old model is just too creepy for my taste...kids should be kids! She's totally gorgeous, okay, but there's lots of time to dress up in heels and minis. Nothing innocent about it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a BEAUTIFUL blog! I now a new follower :DM

ReplyDeleteThanks, guys. I try to find really striking pictures for Fabulous Fridays. There's some truly beautiful photos out there.
ReplyDeleteSpilled Milkshake, I still have a troll doll actually. It sits on my writing desk and creeps me out. I even made it tiny clothes as a kid. : )
Hmm, interesting that I seem to be in the minority when it comes to the 10-year-old model issue. Maybe if I had kids myself, my opinion would change? It certainly is a controversial topic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following Becks and the City, everyone. I'm now following you all back.
