Fabulous Fridays: 25 February 2011

Well, this week's been a whirlwind of disappointments and exciting revelations. Better relax with some links before we pop a gasket!

  • There's a certain power in beating men at their own game. Especially if it involves cards and money. I admire these chicks.
  • Geocaching is like scavenger hunting for grown-ups. I can't wait to try it!
  • I'm an INFJ in the Myers-Briggs personality test, making me the rarest of all types, apparently. Recommended careers for my type include mediation and writing. Pretty accurate considering I am currently moving between these two careers. What's your type?
  • Brilliant mashup: Funky Cold Madonna. Also, U Can't Touch My Humps
  • I'm a bit of a hippie when it comes to deodorant and obsess about them being cruelty- and aluminium-free. On the other hand, I hate the ones that smell like tea tree oil or fly spray. Solution: Batty's Bath vegan deodorants. I've ordered the cotton candy and buttercream scents. Delicious!
  • My movie script:

Whiteys Take Manhattan
an original screenplay concept
by Becks

African-American comedy: A pimply computer nerd teams up with a kind hearted prostitute to take a cruise on an unsinkable ship. In the process they accidentally kill a ghost. By the end of the movie they have sex with 3 cars and end up winning the admiration of their parents, living happily ever after.

Think Gone With the Wind meets Pretty Woman.

Gobsmackingly good, huh? Make your own masterpiece here.

Ahhhh, that's better.

  11. Hi all,

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply to you all.

Greetings to my new followers -- thanks very much for visiting and joining up. I really appreciate it.

TexaGermaNadian, I'm embarrassed to say the second ever cassette tape (yep, I'm an old fogey) I bought was New Kids on the Block. The first was Kylie back in her Locomotion days. My fave was Jon Knight.

Amanda S, wow, you are pretty close to my Myers-Briggs group. I'm also sometimes an INFP, depending on when I take the test. I'm really fascinated by all this personality stuff. They seem really insightful, these tests.

I've gotta say, High Heeled, I'm guilty of buying books online and taking business away from real books stores too. It's hard not to when you can get a book for much cheaper from overseas, even when paying shipping costs. But I buy plenty of books from actual bookstores too. I don't how the problem's gonna be solved.

Thanks for your comments, guys. : )
